Home Chaos and Prosocial Behavior of Young Children in Two-child Families:The Chain Mediating Role of Parent-Child and Sibling Relationship

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effects of home chaos,parent-child relationships,and sibling relationships on 3-6-year-old children's prosocial behavior in families with two children.Methods:1446 children and parents completed the Confusion,Hubbub,and Order Scale(CHAOS),Child-Parent Relationship Scale(CPRS),Sibling Inventory of Behavior(SIB)and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire(SDQ).Results:(1)Home chaos,parent-child and sibling relationships were significantly correlated with prosocial behavior of young children;(2)Home chaos affected young children's prosocial behav-ior through the independent mediations of parent-child and sibling relationships,the chain mediation of parent-child inti-macy and sibling positivity,and the chain mediation of parent-child conflict and sibling relationships.Conclusion:Parent-child and sibling relationships play a chain mediating role between home chaos and young children's prosocial behavior in two-child families.关键词
