Self-Esteem and Fear of Evaluation:The Mediating Effect of Consciousness of Social Face
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between self-esteem,consciousness of social face,fear of positive evaluation,and fear of negative evaluation.Methods:975 college students were investigated with Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale,Consciousness of Social Face Scale,Fear of Positive Evaluation Scale,and Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale.Results:(1)Consciousness of social face played a mediating role in the relationship between self-esteem and fear of posi-tive and negative evaluation;(2)Consciousness of social face and fear of negative evaluation played a chain mediating role in the relationship between self-esteem and fear of positive evaluation.Fear of negative evaluation had a marginal mediat-ing effect between self-esteem and fear of positive evaluation.Conclusion:Self-esteem negatively predicted fear of nega-tive evaluation and fear of positive evaluation,and consciousness of social face played a mediating role.关键词
