Preparation of Cationic Cellulose and Its Application on Retention and Drainage in Papermaking Reconstituted Tobacco

Abstract
cotton fiber was modified by 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride(EPTMAC)with Alkali-Urea system as solvent to obtain a cationic cellulose(C-Cell).C-Cell and cationic guar gum(C-Guar)was characterized by FT-IR,PCD and rotational viscosimeter.Adding those cationic auxiliaries into the tobacco pulp to produce the tobacco sheet by it.Retention and drainage performance,electrochemical char-acteristics of the tobacco pulp and physical properties of the tobacco sheet were tested.It was revealed that the charge quantities of those cat-ionic auxiliaries are approximated.Compared to C-Guar,C-Cell was better than in reducing cationic demand of tobacco pulp and improving retention and filtration performance when the addition of the cationic auxiliary was 0.10%.In addition,the addition of C-Cell also improved the physical properties of the tobacco sheet,such as tensile strength and loose thickness.In summary,C-Cell can be used as retention and drainage aid for paper-making reconstituted tobacco sheet in papermaking.关键词
