Research Progress of Nanocellulose-based Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications

Abstract
Nanocellulose has been widely used in biomedical and other fields because of its high specific surface area(150~250 m2/g),large aspect ratio,low density(1.6 g/cm3)and excellent mechanical properties(elastic modulus~150 GPa,high tensile strength~7.5 GPa).This paper mainly summarized the research progress of nanocellulose-based hydrogels in recent years.Firstly,the preparation methods of nanocellulose were introduced,including mechanical,acid hydrolysis,TEMPO oxidation and biological methods.Secondly,the common cross-linking methods of nanocellulose-based hydrogels,including physical crosslinking and chemical crosslinking,were listed.Finally,the applications of nanocellulose-based hydrogels in biomedical fields,including wound dressings,tissue engineering and drug delivery,were introduced.In addition,the development direction of nanocellulose-based hydrogels in biomedical field was prospected.关键词
