Abstract

Population growth and urban expansion leads to a continuously increasing demand for buildings.Using integrated photovoltaic shading devices(PVSD)to optimize building facade design can reduce energy consumption while ensuring a comfortable indoor light and thermal environment.This study investigates the correlation between facade of high-density urban office buildings and the indoor lighting environment,exploring its potential as a productive facade component.Using parametric software,simulations were conducted for the indoor lighting environments of typical office buildings in five different light climate regions in China.The research first defined the evaluation criteria for multi-objective optimization,established a model library based on all variable indicators,and selected the optimal facade configuration from it.The integrated module effectively improved indoor daylighting and visual comfort in the space,achieving an average visual comfort level of 66.5%.It also met the office building's per capita electricity demand of 7%~13.5%.This study can guide other densely populated cities in promoting research and construction of solar façades to enhance visual comfort in office spaces and reduce energy consumption.
