Abstract
Greenwashing by governments is becoming increasingly serious.The crisis of global climate governance malfeasance is intensifying,preventing countries from achieving their own green development goals and undermining the foundation of integrity needed for international climate cooperation.Government greenwashing is different from corporate greenwashing in terms of purpose,means,and tactics,and is characterized by its macro,strategic feature,and political nature.Compared with corporate greenwashing,government greenwashing,especially in international climate cooperation,has a wider impact and is particularly harmful,including undermining mutual trust in international climate cooperation and interfering with the progress of global green action.This includes undermining the basis for mutual trust in international climate cooperation,interfering with the assessment of progress in global greening,and shaking the order of global economic governance.At present,the regulatory mechanism with the status of international law is absent.Strengthening international regulatory collaboration,organizing honest self-regulatory mechanisms,and supporting external forces such as the mass media to monitor are pragmatic measures to stop the trend of increasing government greenwashing,which would help to explore effective paths of global climate governance,promote the deepening of international climate cooperation,and achieve the global temperature goal proposed in the Paris Agreement.关键词
