Correlation between circulating tumor cells and clinicopathological features in non-metastatic breast cancer

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation between the quantity of circulating tumor cell(CTC)and the pathological characteristics of non-metastatic breast cancer patients after chemotherapy. Methods:This study focused on one hundred and ninety non-metastatic breast cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy at the First People's Hospital of Xinxiang from October 2019 to January 2022.After chemotherapy,CTC detection was performed using the CytoSorter system,and the correlation between the post-chemotherapy CTC quantity and the clinicopathological characteristics of non-metastatic breast cancer was analyzed. Results:The detection rate of post-chemotherapy CTC in non-metastatic breast cancer patients was 43.7%(83/190).Post-chemotherapy CTC were significantly correlated with tumor maximum diameter,clinical stage,T stage,N stage,lymph node metastasis,human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER-2)expression,progesterone receptor(PR)expression,Ki-67 expression,and androgen receptor(AR)expression in non-metastatic breast cancer patients(all P<0.05).The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that clinical stage(P=0.010),T stage(P=0.001),N stage(P=0.046),lymph node metastasis(P<0.001),and PR expression(P=0.008)significantly influenced the quantity of post-chemotherapy CTC in non-metastatic breast cancer. Conclusion:The quantity of CTC after chemotherapy in non-metastatic breast cancer patients may be correlated with tumor maximum diameter,clinical stage,T stage,N stage,lymph node metastasis,HER-2,PR,Ki-67,and AR expression.CTC testing may assist in the post-chemotherapy stratified management of non-metastatic breast cancer patients.关键词
