Abstract
Based on the strain energy method,this paper derives the formula of the additional damping ratio under moderate earthquakes to the additional damping ratio under frequent earthquake.Taking the example of one 5-story frame structure,dampers are connected in 2 different ways to the structure.Elastic and elastic-plastic time-history analysis are proceed.The code time-history method and the accumulative energy ratio method are used to calculate the additional damping ratio.The variation rule of the additional damping ratio are obtained when different damping exponent and different connection type are set.The research shows that:when the dampers are directly connected to the structure,the ratio of the additional damping ratio under moderate earthquake and the additional damping ratio under frequent earthquake is consistent with the calculation results derived from the formula;when the dampers are connected to the structure using a cantilever wall,a larger additional damping ratio can be obtained when the damping exponent is set to 0.6~0.7;the additional damping ratio under moderate earthquakes should be adopted for the design of energy dissipation structure.The results of this paper can provide reference for the selection of damping exponent and the calculation of additional damping ratio.关键词
