摘要

Abstract

The SHRIMP series produced by ASI in Australia and the IMS series produced by CAMECA in France are currently the most successful large scale secondary ion magnetic mass spectrometer in the world.Since the 1980s,they have made outstanding contributions in exploring the oldest materials on Earth and the early evolution processes of planets,magma formation and metamorphism,ore deposit gen-esis,and climate change.SHRIMP has now developed to the fifth generation,and IMS evolves to 1300-HR3.In this paper,the origin and development of secondary ion mass spectrometer(SIMS),ASI SHRIMP and CAMECA IMS are briefly reviewed based on previous articles.While keeping in mind the outstanding contributions of scientific giants,we also make a prospect for the future development of large scale secondary ion magnetic mass spectrometry in the field of earth science.
