摘要

Abstract

To investigate the physiological mechanism of eugenol in enhancing salt tolerance of greenhouse tomatoes,tomato seedlings of'Hezuo 903'were treated with different concentrations of eugenol(20,40,60,80,100 μmol/L),and the relevant physiological indicators of treated seedlings were measured.The results showed that different concentrations of eugenol significantly alleviated the growth inhibition of greenhouse tomatoes under NaCl stress,with 40 μmol/L eugenol having the best effect.Compared to the control,40 μmol/L eugenol treatment could significantly enhance the root activity of tomato seedlings under NaCl stress,and reduce the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),and peroxidase(POD)at the root tips by 11.3%,12.3%,and 28%,respectively;The soluble protein content in the root system significantly increased,while the content of proline,H2 02,and malondialdehyde significantly decreased.The above results indicated that eugenol might effectively alleviate the damage caused by NaCl stress by activating the antioxidant system in tomato seedlings.
