Identification,biological characteristics of Calliteara grotei and its occurrence in Shanghai
摘要
Abstract
Based on the characteristics of male genitalia and molecular biology methods,a tussock moth occurred in Shanghai was identified as Calliteara grotei(Moore).The morphology of eggs,larvae,pupae and adults were described.Through indoor feeding and field investigation,it was confirmed that C.grotei occurs in 3 generations a year in Shanghai,with a total of 5 instars of larvae.The adult peak of the overwintering generation,the first generation and the second generation occurs in early-middle April,early July and early September,respectively.The degree of damage of the moth varied from mild to severe in different areas.Among the host plants,Photinia × fraseri and Platanus spp.were the most degree of damage.关键词
