The Effects of Environmentally-Specific Authentic Leadership on Employee's Green Initiative-Taking:From the Perspective of Self-Determination

Abstract
To implement the social responsibility of ecological environment protection and promote the sustainable development of enterprises,it is imperative to enhance the consciousness and initiative of green development.As the specific executors of the production activities of the enterprises,employees'green behaviors are of crucial importance to the organizational environmental protection.Therefore,stimulating employees'green initiative-taking behaviors is conducive to better promoting the green transformation of enterprises.Environmentally-specific authentic leadership pays more attention to sustainable development factors other than performance indicators,and its integration with environmental protection concepts can better explain the formation of employees'green behaviors.Drawing from self-determination theory,this paper analyzes the impact of environmentally-specific authentic leadership on employees'green initiative-taking behaviors.Through a paired questionnaire survey involving 532 employees and executives of 37 private biopharmaceutical companies,the test results show that environmentally-specific authentic leadership can stimulate employees'green initiative-taking behavior,that employees'pro-environment motivation plays a mediating role in this process,and that when employees and executives reach a consensus on environmental protection,the external impact of environmentally-specific authentic leadership is more likely to transform into employee's internal pro-environment motivations.This paper offers practical insights into the fostering and cultivation of environmentally authentic leadership,the employees'autonomous pro-environment motivations,and the establishment of a community of green action,which significantly contribute to the sustainable development of enterprises.关键词
