Abstract
With the acceleration of the global aging process, the incidence of diabetes mellitus is increasing in the elderly popula-tion.Diabetic patients have a higher incidence of falls due to factors such as fluctuating changes in blood glucose, impaired visual and balance functions caused by diabetic peripheral neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy,as well as treatment, etc.A series of negative consequences that may result from falls, such as bone fractures, disability, prolonged hospitalization and even death, and other adverse consequences can lead to fear of falling, which in turn leads to a vicious cycle of reduced daily activities, decreased muscle strength, reduced somatic function and increased risk of falling, ultimately leading to decreased quality of life, increased medical costs and so-cial dependence. In this paper, through a systematic search of relevant literature at home and abroad,we synthesize the current epide-miological status, assessment tools, influencing factors and interventions of fear of falling in elderly diabetic patients at home and a-broad,with a view to providing a reference for identifying and assessing the fear of falling in elderly diabetic patients and providing appropriate interventions for patients.关键词
