Abstract
Objective To investigate vaccination intention and behavior of Expanded Program on Immuniza-tion(EPI)vaccine among children guardians and the influencing factors by adopting health belief model(HBM),so as to provide reference for future implementation of health promotion intervention. Methods An HBM-based questionnaire was used to investigate 300 guardians of children under 3 years old in Deqing County,Zhejiang Prov-ince,and information about their vaccination behaviors of EPI vaccine was obtained 4 years later from the Zhejiang Province integrated management information system for vaccine and vaccination developed by Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission. These behaviors were followed and analyzed. Results Totally 288 children were followed and their average vaccination doses of EPI vaccine were 4.78±4.02.Multiple logistic regression results revealed that higher levels of EPI vaccination intention were related to higher levels of social support(OR=7.634,95%CI:4.630-12.500),perceiving severer consequence from the category B vaccine related diseases(OR=2.890,95%CI:1.805-4.608),higher household income(OR=2.083,95%CI:1.189-3.650),and floating popula-tion(OR=1.585,95%CI:1.021-2.457)(P<0.05).Multiple logistic regression results also revealed that more vaccination doses of EPI vaccine among children at 4 years old were related to higher levels of social support(OR=2.571,95%CI:1.786-3.704),perceiving benefits from immunization(OR=1.748,95%CI:1.045-2.933),and female guardians(OR=1.695,95%CI:1.031-2.786),among which social support had the grea-test effect. Conclusions Vaccination doses of EPI vaccine may be effectively increased by?raising the awareness of children's guardians and those around them about vaccination, promoting the benefits of vaccination, and infor-ming the consequences of contracting vaccine-related diseases, and carrying out targeted publicity and interven-tion.关键词
