摘要

Abstract

The central nervous system(CNS)is the main part of the human nervous system and is the most refined and complex system in terms of structure and function in the human body.Owing to the structural foundation of CNS,CNS diseases are diversified,and the pathogenesis is profound and complex.The basic unit that constitutes CNS is nerve cells,and the damage or even death of cells is the fundamental mechanism of many CNS diseases.Ferroptosis is a cell death pathway discovered in recent years,and ferroptosis of nerve cells plays an important role in the pathogenesis of many CNS diseases.Glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4),as a critical enzyme in the regulatory pathway of ferroptosis,has become an important target of many CNS disease treatment researches.Therefore,this article focuses on the critical mechanism of GPX4 regulation in ferroptosis and the research progress in the treatment of CNS diseases related to GPX4 in recent years,hoping to provide directions for future research on CNS disease treatment.
