Improved Method of Urban Built-up Area Extraction from Nighttime Lighting Data

Abstract
In order to improve the extraction accuracy of urban built-up areas from nighttime lighting images,we improved the multi-source re-mote sensing data fusion method.Taking three types of nighttime lighting data from 1992 to 2020 in Wuhan as the data source,we adjusted the steps of multi-source data fusion method at first.Then,we added the mutation detection method,so that the smaller buildings in the images can be filtered out to better reflect the extent of built-up area.The results show that①the improved method retains the urban details of built-up areas extracted by the multi-source remote sensing data fusion method,and the division of built-up areas can be clearly seen from the compared imag-es.②The extraction accuracy of improved method is improved from 85.76%to 98.84%,which can reflect the urban built-up areas more accurate-ly.③The improved method removes redundant steps,and improves the efficiency of experiment.关键词
