Progress on the Regulatory Mechanisms of the Biofilm Formation in Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli
摘要
Abstract
Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli(APEC)causes a variety of infectious bacterial diseases,lead-ing to significant economic losses in the poultry industry worldwide and restricting the development of the poultry industry.To gain insight into the mechanism of APEC infection,this paper briefly describes the process of bacterial biofilm formation and its harm.Bacterial biofilms can increase antibiotic resistance to bacteria and result in persistent and recurrent infections in the host,which is difficult to prevent,control,or eradicate.This paper also analyzes the important regulatory systems ubiquitous in all kinds of bacteria the signal transduction pathways and elucidate the effects of quorum sensing,two-component system,sec-ond messenger and an interactive network between two systems on the biofilm formation.Therefore,under-standing the molecular mechanisms on multi-system co-regulating the biofilm formation might be a new anti-biofilm strategy to disrupt the biofilm formation,which provides a research direction for controlling the infections and antibiotic resistance caused by biofilms.关键词
