Abstract
Intraoperative hypothermia increases infection rate,bleeding risk and mortality.Thus,external ac-tive heating system is commonly used in veterinary clinical practice to keep warming under general anes-thesia.To compare the efficacy of three warming devices following anesthesia induction and surgery,eight-een dogs undergoing laparotomy were randomized equally into three groups(n=6,):group circulating-wa-ter mattress(W),group forced-air warming U-shaped mattress(FU)and group warm-breeze mat(FM).A reduction in esophageal temperature was observed after 20 min in all three groups.The temperature curves demonstrated an upward trend in group FU and a slow decline in group FM after 40 min.There was a sig-nificant difference at 40,50 and 60 min between groups W and FU(P＜0.05).No significant difference was found in the mean temperature between groups W and FM.A slowly rising curve was found for group FM in comparison to groups W and FU.It was concluded that the reusable body pressure-dispersion,warm-breeze mat is safe and effective in decreasing perioperative hypothermia.关键词
