Abstract
Objective Aiming to investigate the imaging features of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors(MPNST)in the ischiorectal fossa to enhance comprehension of this tumor. Methods The CT and MRI manifestations of a pathologically confirmed case of MPNST in the left IRF were retrospectively analyzed, and a comprehensive review of relevant literature was conducted. Results The tumor presented as a cystic solid,bag-like mass with unclear boundaries.CT revealed iso-to hypo-attenuation on pre-contrast scan, and heterogeneous and progressive enhancement after contrast medium injection.T1WI showed iso-intensity compared to muscle, while T2WI exhibited a target-like mixed hyper-and hypo-intensity.Diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)displayed local patchy hyper-intensity,while the apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)image exhibited hypo-intensity.MR examination after contrast medium injection showed granular, patchy, and heterogeneous and progressive enhancement, with a plateau-type time-intensity curve. Conclusion MPNST is a rare tumor in the IRF,and its imaging manifestations display characteristic features.A comprehensive understanding of typical signs such as"target sign","entering or exiting nerve sign",and the dynamic enhancement modes is helpful in making a diagnosis.关键词
