Abstract

Flexible DC converter valve has the characteristics of high center of gravity and significant flexibility,and its seismic performance is related to the safety of the entire power transmission system.In this study,a flexible DC converter valve of a DC converter station project is taken as the research object to study its seismic performance under near-field ground motion.Firstly,a finite element model of the converter valve is established,and the natural vibration characteristics of the converter valve are obtained after modal analysis.Subsequently,eight near-field pulse-type ground motions and far-field ground motions are selected,and the overall response of the converter valve structure under ground motions is calculated,and the acceleration response and stress response of converter valve under near-field pulse-type ground motions and far-field ground motions are compared and analyzed.The results show that compared with the far-field ground motion,the acceleration amplification effect of the upper structure of the converter valve under the near-field pulse-type ground motion is more significant,and the equivalent stress of the root of the column insulator and the frame is also significantly increased,which is unfavorable to the seismic safety of the converter valve structure.
