Abstract
Objective To investigate the risk factors of macular edema(ME)in patients with Diabetes mellitus(DM)after cataract phacoemulsification. Methods A retrospective case series study.62 eyes of 62 DM patients who un-derwent cataract phacoemulsification surgery in our hospital from August 2016 to September 2018 were selected in the stud-y.According to the occurrence of postoperative ME,the patients with ME were classified as edema group, while those with-out ME were classified as non-edema group. The body mass index(BMI),blood pressure, macular foveal retinal thick-ness,and diabetes course of patients between the two groups were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The risk factors of ME after phacoemulsification in DM patients with cataract were analyzed by multi-factor logistic regression. Results The results showed that 25 patients with ME occurred in 25 eyes(42.32%)and 37 patients with 37 eyes(59.68%)did not develop ME.There was no significant difference in BMI,diastolic pressure, systolic pressure, serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)between the edema group and the non-edema group(P>0.05).The diabetic course of macular foveal retinal thickness in the edema group was significantly higher than that in the non-edema group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that the course of macular foveal retinal thick-ness diabetes was a risk factor for ME after cataract phacoemulsification in DM patients with cataract(P<0.05).Conclu-sions After phacoemulsification in DM patients with cataract, the thickness level of macular fovea retina is significantly in-creased,and the course of diabetes is longer, and both are risk factors for ME after phacoemulsification in DM patients with cataract.关键词
