Abstract

For the problem of big vibration and noise on the regulating valve at present in the throttling process,the method of combining multi-stage throttling and multi-orifice throttling was used to design a new type multi-stage multi-orifice throttle regulating valve(MCV).The hydraulic and acoustic characteristics of TBV(a traditional ball valve)and MCV were compared by experiments.The results show that the change law between the flow coefficient Kv and opening of MCV is close to a linear relationship.The adoption of multi-stage throttling and multi-orifice throttling can significantly reduce the vibration and noise induced by the valve body.There are no peaks in the radial vibration spectrogram of MCV in the 35~40 Hz and 115~120 Hz frequency bands,which appears in radial vibration spectrogram of TBV.Thus MCV is more suitable for the flow regulation of piping systems.Multi-stage throttling and multi-orifice throttling makes the acoustic characteristics of MCV obviously better than TBV.The method of combining the multi-stage throttling and multi-orifice throttling provides a new idea for vibration and noise reduction of valves.
