Abstract

To improve the balance of the special part production line for solid wood furniture manufacturing,the problems and shortcomings of existing solid wood furniture production lines were identified by researching the existing production line of the company,taking a solid wood stool as an example,and conducting statistical analysis on the main process equipment and process technology.Combined with the Eliminate-Combine-Rearrange-Simplify(ECRS)principles,five aspects including human,machine,material,method,and environment were analyzed to investigate the causes of imbalance in the special part production line of solid wood furniture.The ideas and methods that balance and optimize special parts production line of solid wood furniture were constructed by adopting the principle of the balanced design,including the balance model construction,the bottleneck process determination,the work time determination,the balance parameter calculation,and other key factors.The results showed that the load factor increased from 33.33%to 83.33%.The production balance rate increased from 12.22%to 19.39%.The smoothness index decreased from 38.79 to 33.89.The overall productivity increased by 25%,and the part transportation distance decreased by up to 53.80%.This study provides a reference for the balance of the solid wood furniture production line.
