A Study of the Development and Evolution of MIT's Campus Spatial Form in the Boston Period
摘要
Abstract
Before moving to Cambridge,MIT had been established in the urban area of Boston for 55 years.During this period,the characteristics of the campus space laid an important foundation for the formation of the unique campus space in Cambridge.By combing and reviewing the president's report and archives of MIT during the Boston period,this paper expounds the establishment background of MIT,its educational concept,the development of disciplines,as well as the basic situation and development predicament of the campus construction.Based on this,it analyses and summarises the causes and characteristics of the spatial form of MIT during the Boston period and its impact on the spatial form characteristics of the Cambridge campus,which is of great significance for understanding the evolution and development of MIT's campus.关键词
