Abstract

In order to explore the effects of different substrate compositions on the growth and devel-opment of Sorbustian schanica container seedlings,forest soil,vermiculite and perlite were used as raw materials in this study,according to volume ratios of 10∶0∶0(treatment A),8∶1∶1(treat-ment B),7∶1∶2(treatment C),6∶2∶2(treatment D),5∶2∶3(treatment E),4∶3∶3(treat-ment F),respectively,the effect of substrate compositions consisting three of them on the survival rate and growth characteristic of Sorbustian schanica were studied.The results showed there was sig-nificant differences in survival rate among different substrate composition.Treatment C and treatment D were significantly higher than other treatments,with the survival rate to be 78%and 67%,respec-tively.The height growth of Sorbustian schanica under different treatments were as follows:F>E>D>B>A>C.The diameter growth of Sorbustian schanica under different treatments were as fol-lows:D>E>F>A>C>B.Given the seedlings survival rate and growth characteristic,treatment D(forest soil∶vermiculite∶perlite=6∶2∶2)was the suitable composition in the cultivation of 1—year—old Sorbus tianschanica container seedlings.
