Abstract
In order to select dust—resistant tree species in the greening of sandy roads in arid and semi—arid areas, the spatial distribution characteristics of dust on both sides of sandy roads, and the differences in chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate, plant mortality, and growth of six street tree species, including Picea crassifolia, sabina przewalskii,Populus cathayana, and Populus eu-phratica,after being affected by dust. The result showed that the dust resistance of broad—leaved species was higher than conifer species.Sophora japonica Linn was the slowest in the relative decrease rate of total chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate, length and base diameter of new branch, and the relative increase rate of mortality rate were the lowest than other species. Therefore,Sophora japonica Linn is highly recommended as prioritized species for single species greening. When it is nec-essary to plant more trees for greening, they should be collocated from inside to outside according to the ability of different tree species to resist dust.关键词
