Inversion of Martian Subsurface Dielectric Parameters Based on Mars Orbiter Radar and its Application in Water Ice Detection
摘要
Abstract
Mars is the most similar planet in the solar system to the Earth,and it is an important step in China's deep space exploration.The exploration and study of the surface topography of Mars show that liquid water once existed on the surface of Mars,so the search for water ice on Mars is one of the important scientific goals of Mars exploration.In Mars exploration,penetrating radar uses the penetration characteristics of electromagnetic wave to obtain the delay difference and intensity of the layered interface to invert the dielectric constant and loss tangent of the subsurface material.The dielectric properties of the sub-surface layer can help us to infer important information such as the physical properties of the medium and the existence of water ice,so as to understand the climate and geological evolution history of Mars.This paper introduces the detection principle of Mars orbiter radar,summarizes the methods of inversion of the dielectric parameters of Martian medium by using the echo data of the subsurface penetrating radar,and summarizes the scientific applications and achievements of these methods in the detection of Martian water ice,and gives a prospect of Mars orbiter radar in China.关键词
