Improved Broadband DOA Estimation Algorithm Based on Space-Time MVDR

Abstract
To solve the problem of large computational complexity and high training sample size when the space-time minimum variance distortionless response criterion is applied to broadband direction of arriral(DOA)estimation,an improved algorithm which can reduce the number of filter taps is proposed.The algorithm first preprocesses the snapshot data by filter banks and decimators,and then performs space-time minimum variance distortionless response(MVDR)beamforming.Without in-creasing the number of filter taps,the frequency resolution of the algorithm and the duration of snap-shot data are improved,thus reducing the computational complexity and the number of training sam-ples.Numerical simulation results show that compared with traditional broadband DOA estimation al-gorithm based on the same criterion,the proposed algorithm has better angular resolution and lower computational complexity under limited time samples.关键词
