Abstract
Objective Develop and validate a Chinese Language Development Vocabulary Assessment Scale for children.Methods Utilizing convenience sampling,906 children aged 2.5 to 6.5 years from various kindergartens and 101 children with developmental speech or language disorders were evaluated using this scale.Results Statistical analyses,including item analysis,and tests for reliability and validity were performed.Results The research showed that,except for one vocabulary comprehension question,all other items demonstrated statistical significance.Exploratory factor analysis revealed four common factors each for vocabulary comprehension and expression,with cumulative contribution rates of 54%and 45%,respectively.The scale includes 20 vocabulary comprehension questions and 25 vocabulary expression questions,with good internal consistency reliability and split-half reliability coefficients.Conclusion The scale is a reliable and effective tool for assessing vocabulary development in Chinese preschoolers and offers a valuable resource for diagnosing and treating speech or language disorders in children.关键词
