The correlations of fungal community structure between mothers and neonates based on high-throughput se-quencing techniques

Abstract
Objective The study was designed to identify the fungal diversity and to analyze the correlations of fungal com-munity structure between mothers and neonates.Methods Twenty-five pregnant women and their neonates were recruited in this study,and the samples were collected from maternal oral cavity,amniotic fluid,placenta and neonatal oral cavity.High-throughput amplicon sequencing was performed using the Illumina MiSeq platform.Results The predominant phyla were Ascomycota and Basidiomycota,and the most frequently shared genera in five groups,including Rhodotorula,Davi-diella,Meyerozyma,Malassezia and Cryptococcus.The structure of the neonatal oral fungal mycobiome is similar to that of the maternal mycobiome.Conclusions The neonatal oral fungal colonization occurs before birth,and the maternal oral fungi community may cross the placenta to reach the amniotic fluid and eventually colonized the neonatal oral cavity.关键词
