新时期企业数字化转型是拓展其海外市场规模的重要手段.在对企业数字化转型促进海外市场规模拓展机制分析的基础上,利用中国海关数据库、OECD投入产出表、中国经济普查微观数据和国泰安数据库等,构建计量模型进行实证分析.结果表明:(1)企业数字化转型能够显著促进企业海外市场规模拓展,且结论具有稳健性;(2)中西部地区较东部地区企业数字化转型对海外市场规模具有更为显著的影响,并且大型企业数字化转型对海外市场规模影响更显著;(3)企业数字化转型主要通过提升企业全要素生产率促进海外市场规模拓展.研究结论为积极推进国内企业数字化建设,关注差异性特征兼顾均衡与协调发展,以及持续推动国内数字平台发展提供一定依据.
As the main body of the market economy,more and more enterprises start to take data production factors as the core,take data flow leading the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and cross-industry integration as the development engine,and embark on a new journey of digital transformation.So,what is the impact of enterprise digital transformation on its overseas market scale?Through what channels does the influence effect come into being?Is there a heterogeneous impact on different types of firms?In order to solve these problems,this paper firstly theoretically analyzes how enterprises'digital transformation affects the scale of overseas market and puts forward research hypotheses on the influencing channels.Then,a model is constructed to empirically analyze the relationship between enterprise digital transformation and overseas market scale,and relevant conclusions are analyzed.Secondly,based on the three aspects of region,industry and enterprise,this paper investigates the heterogeneous impact of enterprise digital transformation on the scale of overseas market.Finally,from the perspective of enterprise total factor productivity and enterprise internal control,this paper further discusses the impact mechanism of enterprise digital transformation on overseas market scale expansion. Based on the literature review and mechanism analysis of enterprises'digital transformation and overseas market size,this paper constructs a fixed effect model through the China Customs database,OECD input-output table,China Economic Census micro data and CSMAR database,and empirically tests the impact of enterprises'digital transformation on overseas market size. The theoretical analysis shows that the digital transformation of enterprises can help enterprises reduce trade costs,improve trade facilitation,enhance the symmetry and effectiveness of information acquisition,strengthen the stickiness with target users,further expand the market scale,improve the transaction efficiency,so as to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the market,and achieve the successful development of international market scale.In addition,the empirical results show that enterprises'digital transformation can significantly promote the expansion of enterprises'overseas market scale,and after a series of endogeneity and robustness tests,the conclusions are consistent.The results of heterogeneity analysis based on the region where the enterprise is located,whether it is a high-tech enterprise,and whether it is a large enterprise show that no matter which region the enterprise is in,its digital transformation has a promoting effect on the scale of overseas market.Among them,the digital transformation of enterprises in central and western regions has a more significant impact on overseas market scale than that in eastern regions.The digital transformation of high-tech enterprises does not significantly affect the expansion of overseas market scale;The digital transformation of large enterprises is more conducive to expanding the scale of overseas markets.Combined with theoretical analysis,digital transformation improves the total factor productivity of enterprises,reduces costs,improves production efficiency and innovation ability.Digitalization also reduces the internal communication cost of enterprises,improves the operation efficiency of enterprises,and then helps enterprises to expand overseas markets.Based on this,this paper conducts mechanism analysis from the perspective of enterprise total factor productivity and enterprise internal control. Based on the research conclusions,this paper proposes the following suggestions.First,actively promote the digital construction of domestic enterprises,and constantly enhance the ability to expand the scale of overseas markets.The government needs to continue to build a policy support system and mechanism for promoting the digital transformation of enterprises,and actively guide enterprises to make full use of digital enabling enterprises to produce and operate,enter overseas markets,and expand the scale of overseas markets.Secondly,we should pay attention to the different characteristics of enterprise digital transformation and take into account balanced and coordinated development.On the one hand,it is necessary to consider the different characteristics of enterprise digital transformation and adopt differentiated support means.On the other hand,targeted policy assistance should be provided for medium and low technology enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises.Thirdly,we should increase the construction of information infrastructure and promote the development of domestic digital platforms.It is important to increase the construction of domestic information infrastructure and actively guide enterprises to integrate into digital platforms,which is an important path for enterprises into digital transformation. In general,the possible marginal contributions of this paper are as follows:First,it enriches the relevant literature on the microeconomic effect of digital transformation and the expansion of overseas market scale;Secondly,this paper deepens the existing literature on digital transformation and overseas market entry,and further discusses the impact of enterprises'entry into overseas markets on market scale.Thirdly,this paper attempts to reveal the mechanism by which enterprises'digital transformation affects the scale of overseas markets.
