Abstract

In order to understand the potential utilization of sheep manure and urine,in this study manure and urine production,potential fertilizer and energy utilization of manure and urine and the cropland load of manure and urine in the sheep industry in China in 2021 were estimated.Related data was obtained from the statistical yearbook and the pollutant producing and discharging coefficient.The results show that in 2021,the total sheep manure and urine amount produced in China reached 291 million tons,of which the total nitrogen(TN),total phosphorus(TP)and total potassium(TK)contents have reached 910 800,192 800 tons and 738 900 tons respectively,which can effectively replace 2.553 1 million tons of nitrogen fertilizer(calculated by urea),1.084 5 million tons of phosphorus fertilizer(calculated by P2O5),and 1.918 2 million tons of potassium fertilizer(calculated by K2O),as well as producing 16.595 billion cubic meters of biogas.The potential fertilizer and energy utilization of sheep manure and urine is high.The cropland loads in Qinghai and Tibet rank first and second,respectively,in China.When utilizing sheep manure and urine,full consideration should be given to various land types,such as cultivated land,farming pastoral ecotone,forest land and grassland.
