Abstract

Soil radioactivity monitoring is one of the important contents in radiation environment monitoring.In order to understand the basic situation of soil natural radioactivity in Sichuan Province,high-purity germanium γ spectrometer was used to investigate and analyze the monitoring data of 21 cities in Sichuan Province for 11 consecutive years.The results showed that the average activity concentration of 238 U in soil in Sichuan Province was 33.0Bq/kg from 2011 to 2021.The mean concentration of 232Th activity was 43.9Bq/kg.The average concentration of 226Ra activity was 28.7Bq/kg.The average concentration of 40K activity was 551Bq/kg,which is equivalent to the results of"Investigation and Study on Natural Radionuclide Content in Soil in Sichuan Province"in 1993.The content of 232Th and 226Ra in soil in Sichuan were higher in the south and lower in the north.The content of natural nuclides 232Th and 40K in soil in most areas is high,while the content of 238U and 226Ra is low.The environmental γ-radiation level in Sichuan province was evaluated by the dose rate of γ-radiation in air and the external exposure index.The dose rate of air γ radiation is lower than the national level,and the external radiation index is lower than the national standard limit.Through this investigation and analysis,the basic data of soil natural nuclide radioactivity level in Sichuan Province were obtained,which can provide reference for soil radioactive pollution control in Sichuan Province.
