Abstract

[Objective]Flood discharge in spillway is a complex physical process of water-gas exchange,and the radial gate plays a very essential role in the process of flood discharge in spillway.During flood discharge,the radial gate is affected by flow-in-duced vibration of water body,which leads to uneven force on it,on this condition,it is difficult to calculate the stress and strain of the radial gate.According to the force of the water flow under different openings on the structure of the radial gate of the sur-face hole.[Methods]This paper takes the radial gate of a hydropower station spillway as an example,BIM technique is used to establish the model of radial gate and flow field calculation domain,and the three-dimensional finite element model is established by data interaction between BIM technology and finite element numerical simulation.Besides,Fluent and Static Structural are used to mesh and numerical simulation of spillway discharge and radial gate force under different openings,and analyze the spill-way discharge and stress and strain variation rule of radial gate.[Results]The result show that the stress and strain of the radial gate will gradually decrease with the increasing degree of opening within the allowable error range about gate flow.The maximum equivalent force value at the moment of gate opening is 142.2 MPa,and the maximum deformation value is 3.45 mm.BIM tech-nology is used to analyze the performance of radial gate to improve the efficiency of numerical analysis.Moreover,the hydraulic information obtained from numerical analysis is processed and assigned to the BIM structural model.[Conclusion]The research shows that BIM technology combined with numerical simulation technology can analyze the performance of hydraulic steel struc-ture.In addition,it realizes the two-way interaction between BIM platform and CAE finite element platform data,and the appli-cation and research of BIM technology in the performance analysis of hydraulic steel structures is broadened.
