Effect of Perilla seed extract on growth performance,serum biochemical index,immunity and organ index of meat rabbits

Abstract
The purpose of the experiment was to study the effect of Perilla seed extract on the growth performance,serum biochemical index,immune performance and organ index of Ila meat rabbits during fattening period.A total of ninety-six 35-day-old Ila meat rabbits were randomly divided into four groups,with 12 replicates per group and two rabbits per replicate.The meat rabbits in the control group were fed a basal diet,and the meat rabbits in the experimental groups were fed the experimental diets supplemented with 100,200 and 300 mg/kg Perilla seed extract,respectively.The experiment lasted for 35 days.The results showed that compared with the control group,adding different levels of Perilla seed extract in the diet could effectively reduce the mortality of Ila meat rabbits.Dietary 300 mg/kg Perilla seed extract significantly increased the average daily gain(P＜0.05),and significantly decreased the average daily feed intake and feed to gain ratio of the Ila meat rabbits(P＜0.05).Dietary 200 mg/kg Perilla seed extract could increase the activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP)in serum,significantly decrease the content of cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood glucose(Glu)and urea nitrogen(BUN),and the activity of alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)in the serum of the Ila meat rabbits(P＜0.05).Dietary 200 mg/kg Perilla seed extract could significantly increase the content of serum immunoglobulin M(IgM),immunoglobulin A(IgA)and interleukin-10(IL-10),significantly decrease the content of interleukin-6(IL-6)(P＜0.05),significantly increase serum total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC),superoxide dismutase(SOD)(P＜0.05),and significantly increase heart index of the Ila meat rabbit(P＜0.05).The experiment indicates that dietary supplementation of 300 mg/kg Perilla seed extract can improve the growth performance of the Ila meat rabbits during fattening period.Diet supplemented with 200 mg/kg Perilla seed extract can promote the immune performance and antioxidant performance of meat rabbits,and improve some serum biochemical index and organ development levels.关键词
