A conceptual model framework for studying the neural mechanism of cognitive decline
摘要
Abstract
Objective:The aim is to clarify some conceptual relationships among relevant conceptual models for stud-ying the neural mechanism of cognitive decline,to propose a unified model framework,and to interpret age—or disease-related changes and differences in brain structure,function,and cognition.Methods:Different aspects of previous conceptual model framework for studying the neural mechanism of cognitive decline are discussed,and its limitations are identified.Results:The models of reserve,maintenance,resilience and resistance are combined to construct a conceptual model framework from the three aspects of reserve construction,reserve maintenance and successful cognitive aging.Conclusion:The new conceptual model framework effectively distinguishes the differ-ences among reserve,maintenance,resilience and resistance models,and they work together to form a unified model framework to explore the neural mechanism in the process of cognitive decline.关键词
