Abstract

In order to evaluate the immunization effect and distribution of H5 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza(HPAI)in Chinese poultry,the surveillance data of H5 subtype HPAI published in Official Veterinary Bulletin from 2013 to 2020 were analyzed in the present study.The results showed that the qualification rate of serum immunization in poultry continued to rise from 2013 to 2020.ARIMA model predicted that the qualification rate of poultry serum immunization rose to 94.89%(95CI,94.06%-95.73%)in 2021.The positive rate of poultry H5 subtype HPAI peaked in 2014 and 2019,which was the highest in December and March.Spatially,the epidemic areas of H5 subtype HPAI were mainly distributed in southern China.The qualification rate of serum immunization was the highest in chickens,followed by ducks and geese.On the other hand,the positive rate of H5 subtype HPAI pathogen was the highest in ducks,followed by geese and chickens(P<0.05).The results suggested that the immunization effect of poultry was increasing in China but it was still necessary to update the vaccines matching the epidemic strain in time,improve the immunization of ducks and geese]and strengthen the surveillance as well as prevention and control measures of avian influenza in the alternate seasons of winter and spring in southern China.
