The Nonlinear Effects of Digital Infrastructure on Tourism Economic Growth:An Investigation Based on "Digital Paradox" Hypothesis

Abstract
Digital infrastructure is the"soil"for the development of digital economy,however,there is little research on digital infrastructure and regional tourism economic growth,at the same time,it has ignored the impact of digital infrastructure construction on tourism.Based on China's provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020,this paper uses the theoretical analysis framework of"digital paradox"and the panel nonlinear model to empirically test the existence and mechanism of the"digital paradox"of digital infrastructure on tourism economic growth.It is found that digital infrastructure has a significant N-curve effect on tourism economic growth,which means that the degree of digital infrastructure may have a boost-restrain-reboost effect on tourism economic growth,which confirms the phenomenon of digital paradox.The"digital paradox"is most prominent in the central region and weak areas of digital infrastructure construction.Further mechanism test found that digital infrastructure will have an indirect impact on tourism economic growth through industrial efficiency improvement and industrial structure upgrading,among which the digital divide is an important reason for the phenomenon of"digital paradox"and the upgrading of the tourism industry structure is an important means to avoid the"digital paradox".This research conclusion provides a useful reference for digital infrastructure to promote tourism economic growth and realize the transformation and upgrading of tourism.关键词
