Merge and Suitable for Use:Dewey's Pragmatic Education Thought and the Training of Application-Oriented Undergraduate Talents

Abstract
Based on the basic principles of connecting China and the West and choosing appropriate use,this paper analyzes the guiding effect of Dewey's pragmatic education thought on the current application-oriented undergraduate talent training.By considering the core concept,positive influence,historical limitation and contemporary value of the classical discourse on education,combined with the growth orientation,subject status,practice-oriented and job position of application-oriented undergraduate talent training,the conclusion is drawn:Dewey's pragmatic education thought should be applied to the cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate talents."Education is life"is characterized as growth,and it points to the cultivation dimension of application-oriented undergraduate talents as"people of the Times"."Child-centered"is fixed in the school,pointing to the training dimension of"subject person"for application-oriented undergraduate talents."School is society"is stereotyped in practice,pointing to the training dimension of"social person"for application-oriented undergraduate talents."Learning from doing"is positioned at work,pointing to the training dimension of"professional"for application-oriented undergraduate talents.Coupled training of"era person"+"subject person"+"social person"+"professional person"can create high-quality application-oriented undergraduate talents in the new era.关键词
