Abstract
In order to understand the heavy metal pollution in the river channel sediment of lower reaches of the Qiantang River basin,this study took the urban river channel(Xiasha section of Hangzhou)in the lower reaches of the Qiantang River basin as the research area,and selected three representative points(point 1,2,3 were located in industrial area,wet area,and living area,respectively)to collect sediment and detect the concentrations of heavy metals,such as cadmium(Cd),copper(Cu),chromium(Cr),and manganese(Mn),and used the potential ecological hazard index method and pollution load index method to evaluate their pollution level.The evaluation results of potential ecological hazard index method indicated that most heavy metal pollution was at a low potential ecological risk level,but Cd reached a relative high potential ecological risk at point 1 and point 2.The heavy metal comprehensive pollution of point 1,point 2 and point 3 was in a low potential ecological risk state.However,the comprehensive pollution index of point 2 approached moderate potential risk.The evaluation results of pollution load index method also indicated that the pollution level of Cd was relatively high at point 1 and point 2,both of which were in a severe pollution state.The comprehensive heavy metal pollution at point 2 reached moderate pollution level.The evaluation results showed that the heavy metal pollution of urban river channels in lower reaches of the Qiantang River basin was not optimistic,among which,Cd caused more serious pollution in the river,so it required widespread attention and effective control.关键词
