Abstract
People and weapons are two basic elements of combat effectiveness and two important factors for winning the war."Military Scientist"Engels has pointed out that it is not the gun that wins the battle.In the war,how much role can people play as an enabler of combat effectiveness.Based on the Lanchester equation,the"role of people"in the Battle of Shangganling is calculat-ed.From the perspective of quantitative analysis,it confirms the multiplier and enabling effect of people on weapons,clarifies and eliminates the long-standing vague understanding and wrong concept of"role of people"in the war,and effectively negates the"weapon-only theory"of the victory and defeat of the war.It provides confidence and theoretical support for our army to win the bat-tle based on the existing weapons and equipment,actively play the subjective initiative of the fighters,and flexibly use the weapons and equipment in hand.关键词
