Abstract

In order to reduce the weight and construction cost of large span and heavy load structures,a type of steel-concrete composite beam was proposed,that is,precast and assembled partially encased high strength steel-ultra high performance concrete(HSS-UHPC)composite beam(PPECB).Seven specimens,including five PPECBs with castellated steel(PPECCBs)and two PPECBs with solid-web steel(PPESCBs),were designed for the static test to investigate their flexural behavior under positive bending moment,and the failure mode,strain development and flexural capacity were mainly analyzed.The influences of steel flange thickness,steel web form,stirrup form and laminated slab form on the flexural capacity of PPECB were revealed.The results show that the failure modes of PPECB include bonding failure of the laminated surface and typical bending failure.The specimens that failed in bending failure show better ductility and overall working performance.With the increase of steel flange thickness from 6 mm to 10 mm and 14 mm,the flexural capacity of PPECB increases by 23.6%and 25.8%,respectively.Compared with PPECCBs,the flexural capacity and stiffness of PPESCBs are significantly higher.The stirrup form has no obvious effect on the cracking resistance of PPESCB.However,the yield and peak flexural capacities of PPESCB with C-stirrups are higher than those of PPESCB with closed stirrups.The flexural capacity of PPECCB with keyways laminated slab is higher than that of PPECCB with reinforced trusses concrete laminated slab.Finally,the calculation formula of the flexural capacity of PPECB was given,and the calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
