摘要

Abstract

The frequent red tides caused by Prorocentrum donghaiense have become one of the most key causative species in the East China Sea for almost two decades.The present study was conducted to determine the response process of P.donghaiense to the environmental factors.Based on the continuous-observed data about environmental elements from buoys and ocean stations in May 2019,the formation and elimination of three outbreaks of P.donghaiense blooms was analyzed along Zhejiang coastal areas.Principal component analysis was also combined.The results showed that:(1)Continuous warming,declining pressure,high humidity,strong coastal wind,abundant nutrients,and decreasing salinity were important predisposing factors.(2)The weak wind speed,slowly-rising water and air temperature were maintainable factors.(3)Dissolved oxygen and pH were positively correlated with the red tide biomass,while nitrite was negatively correlated with the red tide biomass.The changes of these three factors were mainly caused by the increase of photosynthetic products and decomposition products of algal organisms.(4)High pH,high wind speed,increasing salinity and pressure,and large consumption of nutrients in the late stage of red tides could accelerate the decline of red tide.Our findings reveal that the cause and mechanism of P.donghaiense blooms could provide scientific reference to the early prevention and control of harmful algal blooms in the future.
