Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of a fully automatic fungal drug susceptibility analysis system for in vitro antifungal susceptibility testing of Candida to common antifungal drugs.Methods The susceptibilities of 100 strains of Candida to 9 antifungal drugs were detected by broth microdilution CLSI M27-A4 and automatic fungal drug susceptibility system,and the agreement of the two methods was analyzed.Results The agreement of the two methods is related to the species of Candida and antifungal drugs.When Candida albicans were detected,the essential agreement of caspofungin was 75%.For Candida glabrata,the categorical agreement of caspofungin and voriconazole was 61.1%and 66.7%,respective-ly,and others were 83%~100%.The total essential agreement of 100 Candida to 9 antifungal drugs determined by the two methods was more than 89%,and the total categorical agreement was over 91%.Conclusion The susceptibility of automat-ic fungal drug susceptibility analysis system for Candida in vitro is consistent with CLSI,which has the advantage of rapidi-ty and automation,and has a good application value in clinical microbiology laboratory.
