Abstract
A travelling wave tube(TWT)consists of a folded waveguide slow wave structure with modified circulator bends and a Pierce electron gun modulated by focusing electrode is developed for planar-integrated research.The high-frequency system and electronic optical system of the integrated TWT are optimized by CST,MTSS,and Opera software,and the low-power design of TWT with low voltage and low current is achieved.The rationality of the high-frequency system and electron gun design is verified through a prototype tube with periodic permanent magnet(PPM)focusing system.The test results of the TWT show that at a voltage of 12.62kV and a current of 31.6 mA,the bandwidth with an output power o-ver 10 W reaches 5GHz,the gain is over 28dB and the efficiency is over 10%,which is in good agreement with the design.The research provides a technological support for the array integration application of W-band TWTs.关键词
