Abstract
Since the introduction of the annual top ten keywords for the urban and rural planning discipline at the 18th Discipline Development Forum in 2021,this practice has become a hallmark of the Forum.The urban and rural planning disci-pline forms its independent and specialized knowledge system,and the primary pur-pose of the Discipline Development Forum of Urban and Rural Planning is to iden-tify and highlight the most cutting-edge developments in the field.Building on the groundwork laid by the previous two forums,the 20th Forum has released ten key-words that represent focal points of the urban and rural planning discipline for the period of 2023-2024.These ten key words,along with the nine associated subfields of planning,include AI empowerment(smart planning),system architecture and knowledge expansion(disciplinary development),sustainable urban renewal(urban fi-nance),multi-purpose facilities for both normal periods and disasters,and spatial planning,refinement,optimization,and rationalization(urban resilience),aging and all-age friendliness(urban inclusiveness),planner career development(the planning profession),preservation system(heritage preservation),factor flow(urban-rural inte-gration),and metropolitan region(collaborative planning).关键词
