Abstract
The temperature field characteristics of dry-type transformer under natural cooling are systematically studied by combining test and simulation.Firstly,the test method of applying rated DC current to both high and low voltage windings is used to eliminate the influence of eddy current effect on the loss results,and obtain the corresponding relationship between winding loss and temperature rise.Meanwhile,the STAR-CCM+is used to analyze the distribution of temperature and flow fields of the transformer after reaching thermal equilibrium,as well as the influence of different turbulence model selection and winding equivalent modeling methods on the temperature rise simulation results.The results indicate that due to the influence of natural convection,the temperature distribution of high and low voltage windings is basically the same,that is,the bottom temperature is the lowest and the temperature gradually increases with the increase of winding height.In addition,the simulation results of temperature rise under natural cooling obtained using thek-ε Low-Re model and cylindrical coordinate equivalent modeling method have the smallest error compared to the experimental results,and have the fastest convergence speed.The current simulation method can accurately and quickly analyze the temperature field characteristics of dry-type transformers under natural cooling,and can provide guidance for the design and optimization of transformers.关键词
