Abstract
Objective To analyze the risk factors for caries in children aged 3-6 years and establish a model to provide evidence for reducing the incidence of caries in children.Methods The study retrospectively collected clinical data from 400 children aged 3-6 years who underwent dental caries examinations.The children were divided into two groups:the caries group(281 cases)and the healthy group(119 cases),based on the incidence of caries.The study analysed the risk factors associated with caries in children aged 3-6 years.Results In the caries group,a higher proportion of 5-6 year old children had a family history of dental caries,family members with low oral health knowledge and cognition level,family economic income less than 5,000 yuan per month,started brushing at the age of 2 or older,used the wrong brushing method,visited the dentist less than once every 6 months,and brushed less than twice a day,compared to the healthy group(all P<0.05).The study found that several factors were independent risk factors for caries in children aged 3-6 years,including age 5-6 years,low family knowledge about oral health,family economic income of less than 5,000 yuan per month,starting brushing at age 2 years and older,visiting the dentist less than once every 6 months,brushing less than twice a day,and sweet tooth(all P<0.05).Conclusions Families should ensure that children aged 5 to 6 years,who have a sweet tooth,brush their teeth regularly.Additionally,it is important to increase the awareness of oral health among all family members to reduce the risk of caries in children aged 3 to 6 years.关键词
