Research Progress on Molecular Mechanisms and Treatment Strategies of Bladder Outlet Obstruction Induced Bladder Fibrosis

Abstract
Bladder outlet obstruction(BOO)-induced bladder fibrosis can lead to irreversible functional and structural changes in the bladder,which is the end-stage change of bladder remodeling and seriously affects the quality of life of pa-tients.Mechanical stress,ischemia hypoxia,and inflammatory infiltration are important factors that initiate bladder fibrosis under long-term obstruction.On the one hand,they promote the production of extracellular matrix and collagen,while on the other hand,they inhibit their degradation and deposit a large amount on the bladder wall,resulting in a decrease in bladder wall compliance,capacity,and contraction force.At present,significant progress has been made in drug research to prevent bladder fibrosis and improve bladder function,including clinical drugs,natural Chinese herbal ingredients,polymer materials,and stem cell therapy.This review mainly summarizes the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of BOO-induced bladder fibrosis,providing certain ideas and directions for subsequent research,and also providing a theoretical basis for the development and use of related drugs.关键词
