Abstract
Objective To report distribution of jugular bulb(JB)height on HRCT among Uyghur patients and po-tential influencing factors.Methods HRCT scans from Uyghur patients admitted form June 2019 to October 2020(n=697)were reviewed.Spatial distribution of the JB in the temporal bone was measured across seven levels defined by three anatomic landmarks,i.e.inferior border of the internal auditory canal(IAC),the basal turn of cochlea and bony ex-ternal auditory canal(EAC).In this study,high jugular bulb(HJB)was defined as at or above the level of the inferior border of the basal turn of cochlea.Age,sex,side,as well as mastoid types,were reviewed for their relationship to the rate of HJB.Results The height distribution of JB among the 697 ears across the seven levels from high to low were as following:17(2.44%),22(3.16%),110(15.80%),87(12.50%),236(33.91%),78(11.21%)and 146(20.98%).The rate of HJB in children,adults,males,females,left side,right side,pneumatic mastoid,diploic mastoid and sclerotic mastoid was:46.43%(78 ears),29.92%(158 ears),28.57%(100 ears),39.31%(136 ears),26.44%(92 ears),41.38%(144 ears),33.88%(123 ears),33.57%(93 ears),and 35.14%(13 ears),respectively.x2 and P values in comparison between chil-dren and adults,male and female,left and right side and among mastoid types were 15.49(<0.001),8.947(0.003),17.336(<0.001)and 0.037(0.982),respectively.Conclusions In this group of Uyghur patients,adult age,female gender and right side were associated with increased rates of HJB,while the type of mastoid pneumatization was not.关键词
